Nutrition counseling for diabetes and pre-diabetes

Food affects blood sugar every day, and managing it doesn’t mean giving up the meals you love. We help you build a way of eating that fits your life, your culture, and your care plan.

Nutrition is an important part of managing diabetes. What, when, and how much you eat interacts with your activity and your medication.

With pre-diabetes, research shows that lifestyle changes can lower the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Nutrition is a big part of that.

Common questions

Do I have to give up carbs or sugar?

Not necessarily. We look at your goals, your numbers, and what you eat to find what works for you.

Can I come in for pre-diabetes?

Yes. If your doctor has mentioned pre-diabetes, high blood sugar, or an elevated A1C, nutrition counseling is a good place to start.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Recent labs, glucose readings or a log if you keep one, and your medication list. If you don’t have these, you can still book and we’ll work with what you have.
